Alabama Cancer Care and VieCure enter into a multi-year strategic relationship to improve oncology care in Alabama using A.I. and patient focused technologies

Alabama Cancer Care selects the VieCure™ Oncology Clinical Decision Support Platform and ‘Smart’ EMR to accelerate the adoption of precision oncology and to bring the latest clinical evidence to thousands of cancer patients annually

DENVER, Colorado and Tuscaloosa, Alabama — March 15th, 2021 — Alabama Cancer Care (ALCC), announced today a mutli-year strategic agreement with VieCure, Inc. to enhance personalized cancer treatment and to accelerate the adoption and delivery of precision oncology in the catchment areas it serves. ALCC offers medical and radiation oncology, urology and general surgery services in the community. New patient growth, emergence of precision oncology and value based care is demanding use of next generation clinical decision support tools like the VieCure™ solution. The practice selected VieCure’s artificial intelligence (A.I.) enabled platform over a number of traditional oncology EMR systems given access to VieCure’s clinical decision support and codified clinical content.

VieCure, a Denver based cancer care company, provides a real-time decision-support system that combines clinical knowledge with patient data to assist oncologists, nurses, pharmacists, and other oncology professionals to generate and manage personalized treatment plans throughout a patient’s cancer jouney. The platform consists of a proprietary A.I. engine, a world-leading precision medicine and standard of care knowledge base and an integrated electronic medical record, specifically tailored for oncology. The platform allows the treatment team to select a preferred course of therapy and tailor it as appropriate for the individual patient’s circumstances. Throughout the continuum of care, the platform guides clinicians with respect to therapy adjustments based on the patient’s response and test results (including next generation tumor sequencing and proteomics). The A.I. engine and knowledge base are fully embedded within a modern, comprehensive, smart EMR tethered to a mobile patient app to assist with remote patient monitoring, treatment compliance and symptom management, while streamlining communication between providers and patients.

“ALCC is committed to offering its patients the latest in clinical evidence and clinical trials. We selected VieCure given the platform is designed to help our oncologists, nurses, therapists, pharmacists, and professional staff be better, faster, and safer at what they do,” says Dr. Ashvini Sengar, Medical Oncologist and Alabama Cancer Care Practice Executive.

“We are very proud to partner with the clinical team at Alabama Cancer Care and to help bring next-generation tools and knowledge to the oncologists that are managing an ever-increasing amount of data and knowledge. The VieCure platform will enable their practices to improve their usage of precision oncology by providing them with the tools and guidance to provide this high-quality care to their patients," said Dr. Fred Ashbury, Chief Scientific Officer at VieCure. "The high-quality and curated data that is produced by properly using the platform can be used to drive ALCC research, benchmarking and value-based care compliance programming. Equipping Alabama Cancer Care practices and providers with these data and clinical decision support tools will only increase their knowledge and ability to provide optimal and personalized care.” About Alabama Cancer Care (ALCC)
