Job Description

We are actively seeking one full time, highly motivated Clinical Data Analyst to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support VieCure’s data strategy to improve cancer patient outcomes. The incumbent will design, implement, analyze and report findings from a large, comprehensive, de-identified database comprising oncology and related patient clinical (e.g., diagnosis, stage, histology, tumor dimensions, tumor markers, genomics, treatment, toxicities) demographic, financial and administrative data.  The clinical data analyst will also support clinical research studies, provide support and consultation to investigators in VieCure’s client base and Clinical Advisory Council, including scientific standards, experiments and quasi- and experimental design.  It is expected that the incumbent will contribute learnings to the scientific and professional literature base to advance knowledge and improve research.  


Reporting directly to the Chief Scientific Officer, the position has the following job responsibilities:


  • Development and implementation of analysis plans that conform to scientific standards to guide the interrogation of the deidentified data collected by VieCure’s clients and stored in a secure, cloud-based environment.

  • Document thoroughly all study protocols, analysis plans, and results to facilitate communication to research team including: study sponsors, study investigators and other stakeholders, as required.

  • Support VieCure’s multidisciplinary Clinical Advisory Council Data Analytics Working Group, including preparation of agenda topics, documentation of action steps, preparation of materials to facilitate discussions, development of proposed study ideas and recommendations.

  • Prepare reports and results that conform to scientific and professional standards for dissemination, as required.

  • Prepare and present results at clinical, scientific and professional meetings and in peer-review publications.

  • Demonstrate professionalism to build valuable and lasting internal and external relationships, exercising discretion and independent professional judgment in all customer interactions.

  • Ability to work with and safely handle all PHI and ePHI information per HIPAA regulations and requirements.

Skills, Competencies & Experience

Our successful candidate will possess the following attributes and skills:

  • Post-graduate degree in applied statistics or biostatistics (doctorate preferred)

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a clinical data analyst, with a preferred focus on oncology

  • Track record of working with very large clinical data sets comprising structured, discrete data

  • Track record of contributing to the scientific and clinical field through presentations at clinical and/or scientific conferences and professional meetings, and peer-reviewed publications

  • Demonstrated ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and across organizations.

  • Excellent analytical skills coupled with natural curiosity and desire to problem-solve and improve client operations

  • Logical thinking and disciplined task execution skills

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills coupled with high social intelligence and understanding of excellent customer service

  • Disciplined attention to detail

  • The ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team. 

  • Excellent presentation skills (ability to communicate effectively to a group) in person and remotely

  • Ability to convey complex concepts to multiple audiences, adapting the style and approach accordingly

  • Understanding of oncology practice/patient care

  • Solid proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, Visio and Zoom

  • Exceptional proficiency using leading data analytics software, e.g., SAS, SPSS, STATA.


We are headquartered in Denver, Colorado. This position will require some travel, for example, to meet with study sponsors, study investigators, and to attend clinical, scientific and other professional meetings. This position is a remote based position. We require the role-holder to demonstrate flexibility in their schedule to meet business needs.
