Job Description

We are seeking an experienced full time and highly driven Senior Director, Sales & Business Development. Reporting directly to the Chief Business Development Officer, you will spearhead U.S. and Canada sales and business development initiatives in pursuit of VieCure’s overall corporate and business strategy, by leading and developing our client solutions team to identify, prioritize, target and close new business opportunities within the cancer treatment marketplace. Our chosen candidate will have experience of leading, engaging and motivating highly successful US healthcare sales teams and extensive, demonstratable, experience of building a pipeline and directly selling SaaS solutions. They will have an advanced understanding of best practice sales processes and advanced sales analytics, and demonstrate experience of successfully implementing these within an organization.

  • Be accountable for a direct annual sales target plus the sales targets of the employees within your team and assigned to your supervision, by identifying and targeting clients, prospects and key decision-makers within your targeted accounts.

  • Utilize a consultative sales approach to close opportunities with senior level executives, supporting the team, and leading as needed, any complex or strategic clients.

  • Identify, recommend, implement and assure best practices are effectively utilized and executed within the team, therefore driving a highly efficient sales process.

  • Prepare and present unsolicited proposals and respond to RFPs when appropriate.

  • Ensure comprehensive customer sales plans are developed.

  • Represent VieCure and the product portfolio with integrity and professionalism.

  • Ensure all sales process and related documentation have managed in accordance with VieCure’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.

  • Define long-term objectives and standards of performance for the team.

  • Drive quality, agility, velocity, and predictability and foster a culture of sales excellence, accountability, collaboration, and individual empowerment.

  • Participate in, and contribute to, senior leadership strategy sessions and to collaborate with peers across the organization with a view towards building a more highly integrated structure.

  • Lead, motivate, engage, empower and ultimately elevate a remote sales team into a high-functioning, high-performance team and center of excellence.

  • Ensure the sales talent are effectively supported, developed, coached and mentored to grow individual and team excellence.

Skills, Competencies & Experience

  • Bachelors level education

  • 10+ years of experience in a sales or business development role within the medtech space, with a strong preference of selling healthcare SaaS.

  • 8+ years of experience leading successful healthcare sales teams.

  • Proven experience in oncology sales and a solid understanding of cancer care treatment and its development.

  • A proven track record of building a pipeline, converting leads into new business and consistently meeting sales targets / annual sales quotas.

  • Strong pipeline and CRM management.

  • Experience and evidence of managing data and interpreting/understanding data to drive revenue growth is vital and your skills with data will form part of the interview process.

  • Evidence of ability to quickly understand clients’ needs to identify and understand how our product and data can be utilized

  • A strong and strategic leader able to set a course of action and take ownership.

  • A proven ability to lead, motivate, engage, empower and ultimately elevate a remote sales team into a high-functioning, high-performance team and center of excellence.

  • A strong communicator (written, oral, presentation) who excels at fostering strong relationships and can effectively negotiate and network, communicating highly technical issues to a variety of internal and external audiences, at varying levels of complexity and detail.

  • A demonstrated commitment to staying current on commercial and technical developments and advancements in relevant areas of the medical technology sector – particularly as they relate to oncology.

  • A current understanding of new and competing healthcare technologies, software trends, architectural directions, etc. and their applications to healthcare, coupled with an ability to effectively communicate these and to contribute to these discussions at the strategic level.

  • Strong strategic and critical thinking capabilities, as well as the ability to synthesize/summarize technical progress and relate it to overall business objectives and overarching business strategies.

  • An outstanding ability to understand people - their motivations, goals, abilities and shortcomings – and how to maximize human resources to achieve planned results within a culture of enthusiasm, accountability, respect, positive employee relations, and team building with an “ownership” mindset.
